Overview
McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park is located on Highway 89 in Shasta County, northeast of Redding. The park is located in the Cascade Range, near Lake Britton. The 129-foot Burney Falls draws many visitors to McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, and people believe this to be among California's most stunning waterfalls.
The campground at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park offers 102 campsites. Seventeen sites are reserved for tents, while the others can take RVs and trailers up to 32 feet in length. Boat rentals are also available, and Lake Britton has a boat ramp. There are also rustic one or two room cabins and a hike and bike site.
McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park has no hookups, with the exception of electric hook-ups at two accessible sites. The campground has restrooms with flush toilets, running water, a shop, showers, and a dump station. There is also a visitor center, a camp store with food, supplies, ice, and firewood, picnic spots, and hiking trails at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park Campground.
Dogs are only permitted on leash in the parking lot, paved roadway, and campsites. Dogs are not allowed on trails, in day-use areas, or at the beach in Lake Britton.
The campground is open all year, but winters may be chilly and damp, making hiking paths challenging to navigate. During the summer, traffic may be heavy, and camping places can fill up quickly, especially on holiday weekends.

Unique Experiences
Enjoy a beautiful view of the falls and a short, easy hike through the parking area of McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park leading you to the base. The journey to the bottom is about equivalent to descending a few flights of steps and takes around five to ten minutes from your car.
Go fishing in Burney Creek, where you can catch the beautiful rainbow, brown, and brook trout, or bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, carp,and perch.
Go fishing in the neighboring Lake Briton. The fishing season begins on the final Saturday in April and ends in mid-November.
Hire a small motorboat, canoe, or kayak, and go paddle Lake Briton.
Go for a swim around Lake Britton in the summer months.
Go for a short hike and check out Burney Falls, where some people feel it is the most beautiful waterfall in California.
Go on an overnight hike and attempt Section O of the Pacific Crest Trail that stretches 78 miles. This section begins in the park and go through to highway 5.

YesFrom Labor Day to mid-May, campsites are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and are paid in cash at the entry booth. During this time, the park is mostly vacant, and the sites are plentiful.
From mid-May to mid-September, reservations must be made at https://reservecalifornia.com or by calling 1-800-444-7275. A site can be reserved up to six months in advance. During this season, crowds increase and the park frequently fills to full.

Day use is $10 per vehicle, camping fees for sites are $35 and cabins cost $85 to $105 depending on the group size.
Group Camping Reservations
There is no group site in Mcarthur-Burney Falls, but each site can accommodate a maximum of eight people so you can reserve multiple sites.
Campsite Reservation Cancellations
If you cancel a reservation, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $7.99 per reservation. Cancellations are accepted online or by phone at (800) 444-PARK (7275). This service is accessible from 8 am to 6 pm seven days a week. Customers who cancel after 6 pm the day before arrival will be charged a $7.99 cancellation fee and will forfeit the unit cost for one night as well as the $7.99 reservation fee.

Pigeon Point Group Campground
With only 7 sites, Pigeon Point Group Campground is a very small campground as compared to the 102 sites of Mcarthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park Campground.These are small sites and ideal for tents, although a smal trailer may fit in a couple of them.
Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring, but no further amenities are offered other than a vault toilet, whereas Mcarthur-Burney Falls offers flush toilets and potable water.
The maximum length of an RV or trailer at Pigeon Point is 22 feet whereas that at Mcarthur-Burney Falls is 32 feet.
Skunk Point Group Campground
Skunk Point Group Campground is a group camping facility whereas there are no group campsites available at Mcarthur-Burney Falls. Skunk Point has a single group campsite, and only vault toilets, while Mcarthur-Burney Falls is much larger with 102 sites, flush toilets, and potable water.
Picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets are available. There are no hookups or potable water. Skunk Point Group Campground charges $40 per day while Mcarthur-Burney Falls charges $35.
East Weaver Group Campground
The East Weaver Campground has 10 campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and a vault toilet, while Mcarthur-Burney Falls has flush toilets and potable water. Both campgrounds have no hookups, aside from the 2 accessible sites in Mcarthur-Burney Falls that have electric hookups.
East Weaver is more ideal for tent camping, but smaller trailers still might be able to fit. A site at East Weaver costs $110 while Mcarthur-Burney Falls costs $35. East Weaver is opened from 1 May to 30 September, while Mcarthur-Burney Falls is open year round.
Cooper Gulch Campground
