Mackerricher State Park
24100 MacKerricher Park Rd, Fort Bragg, CA 95437, United States
Overview
Stretching for 9 miles north of Fort Bragg along the Pacific Ocean, the MacKerricher State Park Campgrounds are popular among tourists to the Mendocino County coast. Visitors to the park can enjoy many wonderful beaches, a rocky point with tidal pools and seal viewing stations, miles of biking routes, and a lake.
MacKerricher State Park has three main camping areas: West and East Pinewood, as well as Surfwood, with a combined total of 114 sites. RVs, trailers, and tents are permitted at the 75 campsites at West Pinewood Campgrounds and Surfwood Campground, while East Pinewood is a tent-only campground.
Tables, food lockers, and fire rings are available at campsites. There are no hookups available, and RVs and trailers are restricted to a length of 35 feet. Restrooms and showers are available within the campsites. There is a dump station, an amphitheater, and hiking paths around Lake Cleone in the park.
The East Pinewood Campground has 59 tent-only campsites. The amenities are the same as in nearby West Pinewood. While the majority of the campsites are appealing, others have been burrowed out of deep shrubbery and have a closed-in aspect to them.
The 5 campsites #27, 73, 74, 115, and 120 are available for individuals with restricted mobility. Other amenities include a picnic area, parking, bathrooms, boardwalks at Laguna Point and Lake Cleone, and a coastal multi-use route. A beach wheelchair is provided for free.
Dogs must be kept on a leash and must always be supervised. Dogs are not permitted on Virgin Creek Beach, Ten Mile Beach's northern half, the Seal Rocks harbor seal pup nursery area or the walk-in tent campsite.
