Overview
Lime Saddle Campground is located in the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, right on the West Branch of the Feather River Arm. To get there, take the Pentz Road exit from Highway 70 from the northwest side of Lake Oroville.
The campground has 44 sites, which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Several sites have 30A electrical and water hookups, and there are flush toilets, potable water, and showers.
They also have two group camping sites that can fit up to 24 people, but these are tents only. You can also bring along your four-legged friends to Lime Saddle, but they need to be kept on a leash and always attended to. Dogs are also not allowed on the trails or day-use areas.
Lime Saddle Campground is only open from April to October, but the park is open year-round. It’s a popular site to visit from spring to fall, so you need to make your reservations quickly as it’s often fully booked.

Unique Experiences
Enjoy a peaceful stroll along the man-made Lake Oroville, or go on a hike on one of the numerous trails like the popular Breezy trail, Feather Falls, or Table Mountain Trail that leads you to a beautiful waterfall.
Visit the Kelly Ridge Visitor Center and check out the 47-foot viewing tower for a panoramic view of the dam and lake.
Whether you’re an experienced biker or a novice, enjoy the many bike trails all around the lake. One of the most pleasant and easiest is the one that encircles the lake.
Get your adrenalin fix with some watersports on the lake like waterskiing, canoeing, sailing, and kayaking.
Rent a floatie and enjoy a lazy afternoon cooling off in the lake during a hot summer’s day.
Go fishing and try to catch numerous species including largemouth bass, catfish, rainbow trout, and salmon.
Grab your camera and try to spot the abundance of animals that include raccoons, turkeys, opossums, rabbits, deer, and birds. Watch out for skunks and bears though!

Group Camping Reservations
There are two group sites in Lime Saddle - Acorn and Pine Cone. The reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance, and you can see which campsites are still available. Each site is priced at $125 per night, and these sites are for tents only.
Campsite Reservation Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your reservation or change your arrival dates, please go to their website https://www.reservecalifornia.com/ or call 1-800-444-7275 by 6 PM a day before your arrival date at the latest to inform them. You will forfeit your reservation fee if you cancel, and late cancellation will be charged an extra $7.99 and your first night’s fee.

Nearby Campgrounds to Lime Saddle Campground (Lake Oroville)
Bidwell Canyon Campground
Bidwell Canyon campground is also a part of the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. The campground is considerably larger than Lime Saddle with two loops. The first loop has 39 sites, while the other has 36 sites, which comes up to 75 sites in total compared to Lime Saddle’s 44.
Bidwell Canyon is it’s open all year round, unlike Lime Saddle which is only open from April to October. Bidwell Canyon’s sites are all hookup sites that cost $45 which is the same as Lime Saddle. However, Lime Saddle also offers non-hookup sites at $25.
Bidwell Canyon doesn’t have group sites and each of their sites can accommodate a maximum of 8 people. Lime Saddle has two tent-only group sites that can take up to 24 people.
Loafer Creek Camp Campground
Another campground located in Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, Loafer Creek is a lot bigger than Lime Saddle with 137 sites. Similar to Lime Saddle, Loafer Creek is only open from April to October.
Loafer Creek also has group sites and hot showers, but they do not have hookup sites while Lime Saddle does.
Sundew Campground
Sundew Campground is located at Bucks Lake in the northern Sierra Mountains of Plumas National Forest. They have 22 campsites for RVs and tents with standard amenities, but they do not have hookups or hot showers while Lime Saddle has both.
Sundew is at an elevation of 5,200 feet while Lime Saddle is at about 1,000, which means Sundew will be cooler. It is also open from May to September while Lime Saddle has a longer season from April to October.
