Jedediah Smith Redwoods Campground
1461 US-199, Crescent City, CA 95531
Overview
Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is one of California's most popular state parks, and for good reason. With its dense forest, beautiful lake, and endless hiking trails, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is a paradise for nature lovers. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced hiker, there's something for you at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.
The park is located 9 miles East of Crescent City on Highway 199. The park has 86 family campsites, 50 of which allow for tent, RV, or trailer setup, and 16 of which are tent-only. The maximum vehicle length in the campsites is a 25-foot RV and a 21-foot trailer.
However, not all sites can fit this size, so always verify the accessibility before reserving. They also offer a group campsite that can accommodate up to 50 campers and 15 vehicles, as well as four ADA-accessible cabins with heaters and electricity but no restrooms or kitchens.
The campsite does not have any hookups. Each site features a picnic table, and fire pit and the campground has a dump station, drinking water, hot showers, and ADA-accessible restrooms.
Pets are allowed on the campsites as long as they are leashed, but not on the trails with an exception of service animals. Alternatively, they can be taken to the redwoods' roads.
Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is a fantastic area to go for a hike, bike ride, picnic, or simply to relax in nature all year round, especially during the summer when it is warmer and dryer and you can swim and kayak in the Smith River that runs through the forest.
This campground is open all year round, but from October to April, it is first come first served only.
