FAQs
Nearby Campgrounds to Crystal Cove Beach Cottages
The main difference between the Crystal Cove beach cottages and camping at other locations is that the cottages are enclosed structures instead of open camping sites in a shared area. Some of the following locations also allow dogs in various parts of the park or have group camp sites available for much larger groups.
Crystal Cove Moro Campground
Unlike the cottages, Moro Campground can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Up to three vehicles can park at each site, while cottage guests in non-ADA units must park in the lot and use the shuttle.
Restrooms and showers are shared compared to private accommodations in the cottages. The largest cottage can sleep 9 people, and Moro Campground has a maximum of 8.
Doheny State Beach
Doheny State Beach has a group camping site that can accommodate up to 40 guests. There are no hookups or private amenities. Pets are allowed in non-beach areas as long as they’re on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Each site has a maximum of 8 guests compared to 9 at the largest beach cottage.
San Clemente State Beach
San Clemente offers two group sites for up to 50 guests each. Hookups are available for private amenities. At $65 per night for full hookups, the cost is cheaper than a cottage but without the same views, space, and outdoor seating areas. Pets are allowed in camp but not on the beach itself.
Bolsa Chica State Beach
Bolsa Chica has a maximum of 8 guests per site. This location has more amenities directly by the beach, such as equipment rentals, snack bars, surfing, and fishing. Dogs are allowed on a leash at campsites only.
