FAQs
Nearby Campgrounds to Bodega Dunes (Sonoma Coast State Park)
With gorgeous beaches, tide pools, and coves, Sonoma Coast State Park provides an unusually diverse environment. The Bodega Dunes nightly rate of $35 is consistent with other campgrounds that lack hookups, but the campground itself offers restrooms, showers, and a dump station for some added amenities. Since there’s no designated group site, this location may be less desirable for groups of campers who want to travel together in a single shared space.
Wright’s Beach Campground
Wright’s Beach is also located in Sonoma County State Park. There are 27 campsites available along the beach, but with a length limit of 27 feet, only smaller RVs and trailers will be able to fit. Campers will need to go to nearby Bodega Dunes for potable water or to use the dump station. The campground has flush toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, and parking areas.
China Camp State Park
China Camp State Park is home to Back Ranch Meadows Campground. Back Ranch is far more primitive than Bodega Dunes since the campground is a hike-in layout meant for tents only. Limited spaces are available in a separate area for self-contained RVs that are only staying for a single night. There is also a primitive group site. Dogs are allowed in day-use areas, on the beach, and within the campground.
Doran Park
Doran Park includes 120 mixed-use sites for tents or RVs. There is a boat launch and fishing jetty, making this area more open to water activities than the protected ecosystem at Bodega Dunes. Dogs are allowed on leash within the park for a fee, and horses are permitted in a 1-mile area to the east of the park. Doran Park is also more accessible, with an ADA-accessible boardwalk and all-terrain wheelchairs available for guests. Reservations must be made through the Sonoma County website at https://secure.sonomacountyparks.org/camping.
Bodega Bay RV Park
Bodega Bay RV Park is a 71-site independent RV park that isn’t affiliated with the state or regional park system. Dry sites are $50, and full hookups are available for $70 at back-in/pull-in sites or $73 for pull-thru sites. No tents are allowed. On-site amenities include a clubhouse, laundry room, restaurant, dump station, and fenced dog area. Reservations must be made at www.bodegabayrvpark.com.
